A Clue!

I'm going to give you a clue to where I have been the past few days.

My sister had her baby. Look at this beautiful baby girl. I just love her so much! I can't wait to cuddle her again. Her birth made for a bit of a crazy week but of course it she was so worth it. I made her the little hair clip that she is wearing in the picture above. She looks so cute with it on!

This is the blanket that I made for baby Lexa. I love the way the colors mixed so well together. You can't see it but the other side of the blanket is a bright pink to match the pink of the elephants. I love doing projects like this one. It brings out my creative side and makes me feel so good. Not only that but I get to use the talents God gave me to bless others. It's such a wonderful thing!

My sister loved the blanket and I even got to snuggle baby Lexa in it. She was so cute and cuddly that I didn't want to give her up. That was until my six year old had a little meltdown that I had to handle. Just another reminder why I am not going to ever have anymore children. :) I love babies to death but I am done with my baby years. Now that we are past the diapers and starting school I am enjoying the little bit of freedom that I have again. My Mom always told me that once you get past the diaper years you will never want to go back. I guess my Mom was right. Now I have a beautiful little niece to snuggle and an 11 month old nephew that is absolutely adorable with his pudgy little cheeks. Seriously, check out this face.

My favorite picture of Baby B! He was so little.

Look at that smile! I just want to squeeze his little cheeks.

This was his first time in a swing. So cute!

With these two around I will get plenty of baby snuggling in. I will try to write another post today with an update on my weight loss struggles. Have a great day!

New Food Find and New Food Addiction!

BroccoSprouts! And lots of them!!! I love these things. I just wish I would have discovered them sooner.

I ate them on a chicken salad sandwich yesterday and today on a turkey and cheese sandwich. It gives the sandwich a nice texture and makes it way more filling. Did I mention that the flavor of these sprouts are awesome! I really can't say enough good about them. I have found my new food addiction. :)

The best part is that I found them on special for 99 cents! They were normally $2.99 which I don't think is a bad price because they squeeze tons of those cute little sprouts in that container. I will definitely be buying them again very, very soon. I actually have some boneless skinless chicken breasts cooking in the crockpot right now. I am going to chop them up and add a little light mayo, salt and pepper and make some more chicken salad to go with my BroccoSprouts. I'm so excited!

Yesterday's Eats:

Not a great day. I am still realizing that I need to cut back even more. I didn't realize that getting back on track and counting points was going to be so hard. I actually went over my points by 16 yesterday. The graham crackers were 9 of those points. I guess I am slowly learning what I need to do to get back on track.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Spinach Smoothie

chicken salad sandwich with 4oz chicken, 2 tbsp light mayo, sprouts and 2 slices of bread
1 serving of Ritz Chips

reduced calorie granola bar
1/3 serving of Ritz chips

chicken salad sandwich with 4oz chicken, 2 tbsp light mayo, sprouts and 2 slices of bread
Salad - mixed greens, 1/8 cup of fat free croutons, 1/4 cup of 2% shredded cheddar cheese, 2 tbsp of light ranch dressing

6 whole light graham crackers

Mindless Munching and Yesterday's Eats

The last two days have been pretty rough. I forgot how hard it is to stick to my Points. I have been overly exhausted the last few days because I think I have another sinus infection. That always seems to wear me out. Of course by 7pm I need to munch to stay awake. I guess it is just another one of those things I need to work through.

On Sunday I did awesome until after dinner when we decided to go to Rita's and get our Free Rita's ice. Check out the pics!

Poor MJ fell asleep before she got to try her ice.

Maddie loves her Mango Ice!

Todd had Peach Ice and it tasted awesome! ;)

I of course had Fudge Brownie Cream Ice. It was the best Rita's ice I have ever had. It has big brownie chunks and mini chocolate chips in it.
It was amazing and I am sure really, really fattening.

Unfortunately this isn't where my night ended. We ended up going grocery shopping after Rita's to pick up a few things. I picked up some Ritz chips because they were on sale 3 for $7 and when you bought 3 you got a free 15 oz jar of Cheeze Whiz. Unfortunately I have a weakness for Cheeze Whiz. That night I ended up opening the Ritz chips and dipping them in the Cheeze Whiz. I wasted 21 Points on it. I can't believe I did that.

Then yesterday I did great again and ruined it at night buy eating 2/3 of a bag of Pirate's Booty and 6 of my Mom's homemade cookies. Mindless munching is the worst. My goal for tonight is to stop the mindless munching. I will save 3-4 points for a nighttime snack after dinner and then go to bed.

As of today I have used all but 1 of my Weekly bonus points. If I want to lose weight by my weigh-in on Friday I really need to be strict. I only have 30 points per day and if I get some energy back I will try to pick up a few extra points by exercising.

Yesterday's Eats:
- No time to eat.
- Cracker Barrel Salad with 1 packet of Fat Free Ranch Salad Dressing
- 1 1/2 cups of Beef Veggie Soup
- 2 biscuits
- 2/3 bag of Pirates Booty
- 6 homemade cookies
- 2 tbsp of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Starting The Morning Off Right

I decided to start my Saturday off right. I had one of my favorite smoothies for breakfast!

The Pudget Strawberry Cheesecake Power Smoothie:

1 cup of Unsweetened Almond Breeze (40 calories a serving)
1 1/2 - 2 cups of fresh spinach
approx. 1 cup of frozen strawberries (from the garden)
1 small banana
2 tbsp of Fat Free, Sugar Free Cheesecake Pudding Mix
1/4 cup of Splenda

Mix in Vitamix or blender and enjoy!

I am still loving the Vitamix that the Vitamix company gave to me about a year ago. It still looks brand new even though I use it almost every day. They are expensive but if you can afford it they are worth every penny.

It is absolutely beautiful outside today. I am hoping to feel up to a nice walk. I am still recovering from the flu which is making it hard for me to be very motivated to do much of anything. I am still pretty worn down and still dealing with a lot of congestion. Hopefully in another day or two I will feel completely better.

What type of exercise are you looking forward to doing now that the weather is starting to get nicer?

I Figured It Out ..... Please Help!

When I stepped on the scale a few days ago I weighed 189 lbs. Yep, that's what the scale said. Shocker, kind of. With the way I have been eating I am surprised I am not up to 200. I realized then that I need to get a handle on this before I gain all of my weight back. At that point I started trying to figure out what I did differently when I was still losing. Something that I did then but don't do now (besides the obvious of eating more).

That's when it hit me. I used to read all of your weight loss blogs and so many more. It helped to keep me motivated to lose. I loved reading about how all of you were doing and what you were eating and how much weight you were losing. It was so much fun and so inspiring. It made me want to do better and to try harder. It gave me that extra little push that I need.

At some point I stopped ready all other blogs because I was busy and I just didn't have time to. I really think this was my big mistake and I plan to figure out if I am right. As of today I am going to start reading all of your weight loss blogs plus some others that I used to follow.

Please help me out by leaving a comment below with your blog address. I would really appreciate it. I can't wait to catch up on some blogs that I used to follow and others that will be new to me. Also, if you know of any good weight loss blogs that you read please post them below.

I am so excited to get back on track and I am so thankful for all of your help and support. I can't wait to start reading!

And The Winner Is ....

I'm sorry I didn't post this on Tuesday as promised. My daughters and I have all had the flu since the end of last week. A Cute Little Butterfly!

It was a busy, busy weekend! My oldest daughter competed in her first Odyssey of the Mind competition. Her team did great! They didn't win any awards but I was one proud Mamma that day. It was amazing to see my little six year old on stage preforming in front of so many people. She was so calm, spoke loudly, remembered all of her lines, and looked adorable. Here are some pictures of her team from the competition.

My little butterfly!

After a great day of Odyssey of the Mind we traveled to my sister's house to celebrate my Mom's 50th Birthday. Happy 50th Birthday to the Best Mom in the World!!! We had a great night of eating way too much food and cake. I did bring a huge fruit tray with light yogurt dip. It was amazing!

On Sunday we celebrated my husband's birthday. I had my in-laws, my parents and my Aunt Diana over for dinner and cake. We had so much fun playing the Wii all night. I love spending time with my family!

Luckily Monday was a snow day for my daughter. We all slept in and caught up on some much needed sleep. I do love crazy weekends!

Although I didn't track my PointsPlus last week I did have a really great time. I am ready to get back on track and start counting my Points again. I am very happy to be able to do this with that great little application on my phone. Pretty cool!

I also have more great reviews and giveaways coming up in the very near future. :) If you haven't entered the 31 Girl Giveaway be sure to do it soon. The giveaway ends in just a few days. Click here to enter.

A Really Great Giveaway!!!!

Check out these bags!!! Are they not the cutest things you have ever seen?!! A few months ago Brandy Switzer, Independent Consultant for Thirty-One Gifts, asked me to review one of her "Thirty-One" bags. Of course I was very eager. If you have ever seen Thirty-One Gifts products before you will completely understand. If you have never seen their products just look at the pictures I posted and you too will understand. Their bags are awesome!

I was very pleasantly surprised when Brandy gave me a Shoulder Organizing Bag (like the ones pictured above) to review for her. I had been eyeing them up all summer long so I was thrilled to finally have one of my own. Many of my friends had purchased one this past summer and they all looked so adorable and said they loved them. I was more then excited to be able to try one out for myself.

Thirty-One Gifts did not let me down. My bag not only is adorable but it is the perfect every day bag. I have carried this bag every day for approximately six months and I love it as much today as I did the day I received it. It has been perfect for me as a Mom of little one's. I have been able to stuff it with everything I need and throw it over my shoulder while I am on the run. At first I wasn't sure if it would hold everything I like to carry with me but I was very happy when I realized at it held everything I needed plus some. It really is the perfect bag.

Just when I thought Thirty-One Gifts couldn't get any better they came out with their new Spring Catalog! Seriously, you need to check it out. I am in love with so many new styles and patterns. They are so, so cute! The bag that I want to buy is here. It is letter R. The XXL Everyday Tote. It will be perfect for the Spring and Summer when we go on day trips to the park, lake, swimming, and any other place we decide to go. It is huge and will hold everything we need.

Check out the pictures below of some of the items in Thirty-One Gifts new Spring catalog. I just love the pattens! Click here to view the entire catalog. You can place an order online or have an online or home party with Brandy by contacting her through her site.

You Won't Believe It!

I had a rough weekend full of migraines but as of today I feel great and migraine free. I didn't watch what I ate because of not feeling well but I don't think I overdid it. I didn't step on the scale this morning so I am hoping I didn't gain anything.

You will never believe what I did yesterday! I got back on my treadmill. Not only did I get back on but I ran! It felt great! I know you are probably thinking I am crazy but it really did feel so good to do something for myself again. I was on the treadmill for a total of 30 minutes and ran 15 of them. Not awesome but it was definitely a good start.

I enjoyed running so much yesterday that I am actually sitting here in my exercise clothes typing this post. As soon as I am done typing I will being going for another run. I really can't even tell you how good it feels to be excited about exercise again. It has been so, so long since I have felt this way. I actually forgot how good it feels.

If you are like me and haven't exercised in say 6 months or so (Yikes - has it really been that long?) make sure you get yourself right back into it. Don't sit back any longer just thinking about doing it. Make yourself get up and do it. I promise you that you will not regret it. I feel so much better about myself after just one day. I know it may sound crazy but it is true. It is a definite confidence booster and you will be so happy that you got yourself back into being active.

My pre-workout snack!

The Pudget Power Smoothie:

1 cup of (40 cal. per cup) Almond Breeze
1 frozen banana
2-3 cups of spinach
2 tbsp of fat free, sugar free chocolate pudding mix
1/8-1/4 cup of Splenda - optional
1 tbsp of Soynut Butter
6-8 ice cubes

Put in Vitamix or blender and blend until spinach is completely pulverized. :)

I actually got almost two glasses full out of this recipe. It was awesome and so very filling.

What do you eat before your workout?
