A New Food Find!!!

I finally weighed myself this morning. I was pleased to see that after not weighing in for three weeks I lost 1 and 3/4 pounds. I wasn't completely shocked but pleased. I haven't been being as strict as I should be at this point but I have been trying to watch what I eat. I'm definitely not going to complain about my loss.








I haven't been to a Weight Watchers meeting in three weeks. I didn't go three weeks ago because we were celebrating my Dad's birthday, then last week I was too tired to go and then this week I didn't have the extra money to go. Now the question is, "Will I go back?". I do love Weight Watchers meetings but I don't love the price. The price isn't that bad if you can buy the special they usually have but right now I can't afford to pay for that many weeks at a time. I guess I will just have to think about it and decide by next week.




New Food Find:



I found a great cereal a few weeks ago. I am so excited about this because normally I hate cereal but this cereal is different then any other I have ever tried. It is healthy and it tastes great. I actually even eat it as a snack. It is so good!!! The reason I am thinking about it right now is because I am out of it and am really craving it. I found it in the health food section of my local grocery store.





Just when I thought it couldn't get any better then Peanut Butter Puffins I visited their web-site. Guess what? It does get better! They also sell Peanut Butter and Chocolate Puffins!!!!! Can it be true? My two favorites combined together into Puffins cereal? I have to have them! They sound amazing! Seriously, wait until you try this wonderful cereal. The texture of the Puffins are so perfect and fulfilling. They are thick and crunchy. The Peanut Butter Puffins taste great, are healthy and filling. This is seriously the first healthy cereal that I have ever found that I can honestly say I love to eat.



Now I really need to focus on losing these extra unwanted pounds before it starts to get warm. If I don't then I am not going to have any clothes to fit me come Spring. This would not be good. Maybe this will give me the extra incentive I need to get myself on track.




I have an idea! I am going to hang this outfit on the front of my closet door so that it reminds me every morning of how good I felt in it. This outfit was one of my favorites from this past summer. My Mom bought it for me to wear to my photo shoot with Woman's World magazine. It took us a good 7 to 8 hours of shopping to find it. It brings back many good memories. :)







It will also remind me that their is no way I will be able to fit into this outfit unless I lose another 15 pounds. Honestly, losing 15 pounds is definitely doable and I am very excited to fit back into this outfit again.

How will I get myself excited about losing this 15 pounds? I am hoping by posting these pictures and hanging up my outfit I will be motivated more. My biggest problem right now is the lack of exercise. I have not exercised in so long and the worst part is that I don't miss it. I hate to admit it but it is true.

I know I just need to make myself do it. Once I get started I know that I will enjoy it (a little). I know that it will give me that little boost I need in my weight loss to keep me going. Now I have to decide what I will start with. Jillian Michaels, the treadmill, Zumba on the Wii, running? I will let you know as soon as I decide.

Pudget Power Smoothie and Giveaway!





I am sitting here enjoying one of my Pudget Power Smoothies and wanted to share it with you. This is my all time favorite smoothie. Not just because of the flavor but also because of the health benefits I get when I drink it.





The Pudget Power Smoothie is packed with tons of spinach which makes me feel like I am really getting a well balanced meal when I drink this for breakfast. That's not it. I also pack this smoothie with one whole frozen banana and today a tablespoon of soynut butter. I also add sugar free, fat free pudding mix to make it a nice texture and turn my smoothie into a chocolate peanut butter shake. Here is the full recipe.





The Pudget Power Smoothie:


1 cup of (40 cal. per cup) Almond Breeze


1 frozen banana


2-3 cups of spinach


2 tbsp of fat free, sugar free chocolate pudding mix


1/8-1/4 cup of Splenda - optional


1 tbsp of Soynut Butter





Put in Vitamix or blender and blend until spinach is completely pulverized. :)








Then I take my smoothie and put it in my favorite cup. It's a Tupperware Tumbler with a spill proof, flip top spout. It's perfect for my smoothie when I am at home or on the run. I put a disposable straw in the flip top spout and I am ready to suck down my smoothie. I love these tumblers for many reasons. My friend gave me one a few months ago and I seriously use it every time I drink a smoothie because I love the way it looks and it is so convenient.





I just noticed that Tupperware came out with a spring tumbler set. It is so cute! It is perfect for the spring and summer. I will definitely be ordering them soon because I drink a lot more smoothies when it starts to get warmer. Click here to check them out. I love that you get a set of six. I will probably order them and split it with my Mom. She got a Vitamix for Christmas and I have been telling her that she needs to get some of these tumblers. I am excited to get the new spring pattern.

Most of you already know that I am a huge Tupperware fan for many, many reasons. I could go on and on about how Tupperware has saved me so much time and money. So you won't be surprised that as I was looking for a picture of the tumbler set I found something else that I have to have.

They are Tupperware's eco friendly water bottles. How awesome would it be to keep these in your fridge filled with water for your family to grab on the run rather then the disposable water bottles. Not only will it save you money but it will also help the environment. That and they are really cute!!! :) Another must have for me. Can you tell that I like to save money and look cute at the same time?!

I Gained A Pound

I really had not planned on going to Weight Watchers last night because I knew that I had gained this week. I know this was not the right frame of mind to have but you know how it is when you convince yourself of things like this. I finally realized that when I lost 50 pounds when I started this blog that it did not all come off at once. I had weeks where I lost a lot, weeks where I didn't lose at all and weeks where I gained a pound or two. I came to the conclusion that I did all of these things at one time or another yet I still lost 50 pounds. So it is possible to lose 50 pounds even if you have a bad week and gain a little weight.

I am really glad I went to the meeting. I did find out that I gained a pound and now weigh 187 3/4 but I also was encouraged by all of the other people who lost this week. The meeting was so motivating. It brought back many ideas of things that I have done in the past to help me lose weight.

We talked about motivation and what you use to help yourself stay motivated. The conversation helped me remember so many things that helped me stay motivated in the past. My "every 10 pound" pictures that I so love to post, looking forward to swim suit season, picturing myself looking great on vacation, and so many others. I really needed the meeting last night. It boosted my enthusiasm for the week and I am really ready to lose.

The point of my post is that even though I gained a pound I really should not think of myself as a failure. It is one week and that is only one week of the many more to come. I need to be looking at the big picture not just what is right in front of my face. It may seem horrible for a few days but when I look back at the year and a half that it took me to lose 50 pounds a week seems like nothing. I know sometimes it is hard to see the big picture but I am here to tell you from experience that having a bad week should not discourage you from moving forward and making next week a good week.

Remember, it's all about the big picture!

A New Food Find

I wish I could say that I had an awesome week. I actually had an okay week. I did great until Saturday and Sunday. Lack of sleep kicked in and I let it take control of my eating. I'm not sure how bad I did but I didn't track my points and I do know that I didn't watch what I ate.







I did get in some exercise in. On Sunday we went to my in-laws for some sleigh riding fun!



















I forgot how much fun it is to go sledding. It was actually my girls first time. They had so much fun. It was definitely a good workout but unfortunately we came inside starving to a house full of food. I ate a few too many brownies and hot dogs with sour kraut. Surprisingly they make a very pleasant combination. :)



Yesterday I got myself back on track and today I started tracking again. I even tried a new food today. I fried up some polenta in PAM until it was nice and crisp. It was garlic and basil flavored and it tasted a lot like a potato pancake. It was awesome! My oldest daughter ate at least 5 slices of it and my youngest ate 3. My husband even liked it. It's funny that it took me so long to try. It will definitely be a regular in my house. The best part is that I found it already made up and ready to slice for around $3.50. It made it so much easier to make.




Tonight we are supposed to get a lot of ice. I am hoping that my daughter's school is canceled again tomorrow. I just love having her home with me and of course it is nice to sleep in. :) Tomorrow night is my weigh in. I'm not really looking forward to it because I haven't stepped on the scale in a few days. We will see tomorrow how it goes.
