What Should I Do???

I have been so upset lately. I have been doing so well with the way I eat at work and then the second I get home I start to binge. Some days it happens while I am cooking, other days after dinner and some days it's right before bed.

It's crazy! How can I feel great all day long and then go home and eat everything in sight. I don't even think about food while I am working. I force myself to eat lunch on some days because I am not always hungry.

All I know is that I am miserable. I just told my husband that it isn't the fact that I gained weight or how I look that is bothering me. It's the fact that I am out of control with my eating. I always feel so guilty when I go to bed because I ate things that I shouldn't have.

It really has been stressing me out. I feel so good and then around 6pm I start to feel exhausted, the kids start whining and hanging on me, I have to cook dinner, clean up, do laundry and some days we add soccer into the mix and then I just fall apart. I eat whatever I can find.

I know it seems like going to bed when I get tired would be an easy solution. Unfortunately, that is just not possible. There is no way to fit my whole day into a 7am to 7pm time period. I would love that but it just isn't going to happen. I just don't know what to do.

My whole eating issue seems to stem from being too tired. I feel great and happy and don't even care about eating until I get too tired to hold my head up and then I can't stop eating. I really need to fix this problem or I am going to go crazy! Either that or I am going to gain all of my weight back.

At least I know what is causing my problem. Now I just need to find the solution.

Any ideas???

Weight Watchers

My sister went back on Weight Watchers this week after having her third child. I am so excited for her. She has already lost a few pounds and she is only on day three. I hope that her weight loss will encourage me to lose faster. I am stuck at 192 and I have been so busy that I am surprised that I haven't gained.

I have been waiting for life to calm down a bit since I started working but I think that it may never happen. :( I guess I am just going to have to adjust to the craziness and move forward. I just need to figure out how to do it. I'm trying a little bit at a time. I'm glad that I am losing even if it is slowly but of course I wish it would come off a little quicker. I know I could try harder but I am the type of person that loses all motivation when I am tired. Unfortunately that seems to be the way I feel every night after work.

I'm not sure if feeling this tired is normal for getting up early, working all day and then coming home to all of the fun cooking, cleaning and sports or if it is my Fibromyalgia acting up. I haven't worked outside that home in over three years. Back then I only had one child and it was so easy to go to work and still fit everything else in without getting tired. Now it just seems impossible.

I guess there isn't anything I can do about it either way. I have to work and I refuse to take any medicine for my Fybromyalgia. If you are wondering why click here and you can read all about it. I am praying it gets better really soon and that I regain some of my energy.

I want to lose this extra weight so bad. It's such a horrible feeling knowing that I could feel so much better. It's all so fresh in my mind. The way I felt a year ago when I weighed 25 pounds less. I also remember how easy it was to by clothes. I want all of that back.

I hope the more I want it the more likely I am to make it happen because right now I want it so bad!

Kix Cereal Review & Giveaway!

I don't know about you but Kix was always one of those cereals that we had at home when I was growing up. My Mom was strict on what types of cereals we were aloud to eat. We weren't aloud to eat the really sugary stuff that always looked so good. :)

So to me Kix Cereal was the best. It didn't have as much sugar as some of those crazy cereals but it still tasted sweet. Out of all of the cereal's that my Mom allowed me to eat Kix was my favorite. It is still one of the few cereals I will eat.

I was so excited to be asked to review Kix Cereal. I love the taste of Kix and I don't have to worry about it having too much sugar for me and my family. Kix sent me 6 boxes of cereal to review and I have been one happy girl ever since. I love to eat it for breakfast, as a snack or even sometimes as a quick dinner when we are really rushed.

I know a lot has changed since I was a kid but to me Kix will always be one of my favorite healthy cereals and I am so happy that I can share this review and giveaway with you.

You Are What You Eat!

I'm really excited to share this post with all of you. This past weekend I bought a book called "You Are What You Eat" by Dr. Gillian McKeith. I'm sure some of you may have already heard of it but I am so excited about it that I have to share it anyway.

So far I think this book is awesome! It teaches you how to become a healthier person. It's exactly what I have been looking for. Someone to spell out word for word what I need to do to become healthier.

I love that this book shows us how we can look at our own bodies (ex. tongue, feet, hands, ears, eyes) and tell what it is we are doing wrong and what we can do to fix it. The amount of information in this book is amazing.

Actually the amount of information in the book may seem a little overwhelming but I have just been taking it one step at a time. There are so many changes that I need to make in my life in order to become healthier but I obviously can't do them all at once. Right now I am picking out what seems to me to be the most important/doable changes.

I actually went to Walmart tonight after work and picked up a few new things that were suggested in the book. She suggest drinking lots of hot tea. She even listed several of her favorites and what they are best for. I bought Java tea which is known to relieve stress. I also bought chamomile tea which is also good for relaxation. I'm sure you all know by now that I suffer from insomnia so I am hoping that these teas will help in that area.

I also picked up a big bag of raw almonds. The author of the book is really big on eating lots of nuts and seeds. She has many reasons that I can't think of right now but it is all listed in the book.

I also picked up some organic veggies for salads, some sweet potatoes (which I think she said gives you energy), Peaches and several other items. I will write about them in another post as I remember.

One of the biggest reasons I love this book is because she has spelled out so clearly what food combining is and how to properly do it so that your body can digest easier and also aid in weight loss. It's all so simple and I can't wait to try it.

The one thing that I don't really like is that she suggests that you don't drink coffee because of the caffeine. :( I'm not sure I can make that change. I really enjoy my one cup of coffee each morning. Baby steps, right?

This book also has so many different healthy foods listed that I have never heard of. I love to try new things so I am super excited to try them. I just hope I can find them where I live. Not only does the book have these healthy foods listed but it also gives a description of them and the reasons why they are good for you.

I have to say that I have loved everything about this book so far but what I really do love the most is that this book not only has information on eating healthy but it also has so many tips on how to lose weight. It is just so nice to have all of this information in one book with everything spelled out for you. I don't have to search through several different books to learn how to eat healthy. It is all in one little book. Love it!!!

If you couldn't already tell I am thoroughly impressed with this book. I can't wait to really dig into it further and start testing out all of Dr Gillian McKeith's ideas. I will continue to share all of my discoveries along the way.

Flood 2011

Please pray for the people in my area. We had horrible flooding the past few days. My home has not suffered any damage but so many around me have. Is it so devastating to see all of the pictures from around my home of other homes and businesses that have been damaged or are still underwater.

Here are some pictures that I took Thursday evening at the bridge right next to my house.

At this point the Susquehanna had just come across the road. The right side of the picture is someones back yard.

They ended up closing the bridge while we were on it because of the water covering the entire road. These pictures don't even show the worst of it. The river rose so much more after I took these pictures.

We saw so much debris floating away. we even saw a whole porch floating down the river. It was just so crazy!

The town that I work in is still under a state of emergency. The damage is horrible. I have many friends that are finally able to get back into their homes to find that their entire 1st floor ruined. There has been so much lost. It is still so hard for me to believe that this is all happening around me.

The picture below is the roller skating rink I told you I was at last weekend. It's hard to believe that seven days later it is filled with water. It's all so sad.

I could go on and on about the devastation I have seen just in these past few days. I am so grateful for my home and my family being safe. My heart aches for those who have lost so much. I can't stop thinking about everything that has happened, what people have lost and how they must feel right now. It is heart breaking that so many people lost so much and now they have to go back and clean up the huge mess.

Tomorrow I go back to work for the first time since Wednesday. I am not looking forward to hearing of all of the sadness and loss but I am hoping that I will be able to find a way to help those in need.

Again, please keep the people of Central Pennsylvania in your prayers. So many people are displaced from there homes right now and will have a lot to clean as they are able to return home.

I Love Little Blue People!

I'm finally getting into the swing of things since I started working two and a half weeks ago. Now I am hoping to get back to losing some weight. Today was not a good start to this weeks weight loss.

Although, this weekend was one of the best weekends I have had in a really long time. I had a great time with my family and I got a lot accomplished around the house. If only every weekend could last for three days!

My husband wasn't feeling very good on Saturday so the girls and I had a "Girls Day". We had so much fun together even though we all came home exhausted and with a few injuries. ;) We started the morning off going to see the movie "Smurfs". I you haven't seen it you really should. It was seriously the cutest movie I have seen in a really long time. I loved it! Then I took the girls for lunch at Wendy's and after lunch we went to the Roller Skating Rink. It was so much fun to go skating. I took the girls skating this past winter and we all had so much fun so I thought it would be a good activity for a Saturday afternoon. Not only was it fun but we all worked up a such a sweat that I am sure two hours of roller skating was a good form of exercise. :)

Your probably wondering where the injury comes into play. My six year old fell skating and hurt her wrist. It hurt for about 24 hours but she hasn't complained of it all day today so I think we are good. The only injury that I had were swollen ankles. I think it probably has something to do with my Firbromyalgia. Hopefully they will be better by tomorrow. :) My three year old came home with no injuries. She is a little skating machine! That is of course before the no-nap meltdown. Actually, both of the girls did very well skating. They both stuck it out even through all of the falls.

I love days like Saturday. It was just so nice to spend the whole day with my girls doing fun things that we all enjoy. They are growing up way to fast and I want to someday look back at these years and remember all of the great times we had.

On another positive note I did great with what I ate all day Saturday plus I got in lots of exercise at the skating rink!

Sunday was another semi-fun day. I say semi-fun because I spent half of the day catching up on house work. The morning we spent at Church and the evening we spent at my parents. It just doesn't get much better then that! Did I mention I even steam cleaned my floors. It wasn't fun but boy do the carpets look good!

Today was wonderful because I had the day off of work. An extra day to my weekend just made me so happy!!! We spent the day at my husband's family's 1oth Annual Pig Roast. We always have a great time and I was so worried that the weather was going to ruin the day for us. The weather wasn't great but we didn't let that stop us from having a really good time. The girls had fun playing with their cousins and my husband and I had fun spending time with his family. They are awesome people and I am so blessed to have all of them in my life.

The only downside to today is that I didn't control myself very well around the food. I ate way too much stuffing and gravy and dessert. I think I would have been perfectly happy if the only foods at the picnic were stuffing, gravy and cherry cheese pie. Every thing was great but these three things were exceptional. Can you tell I have very rich taste. :)

Tomorrows a new day and a start to a new work week. I am going to start it off right with one of my favorite smoothies. I think it will be the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pudget Power Smoothie. My husband picked up some organic spinach and bananas for me so I should be set for tomorrow's breakfast.

Still Not In The 180's

I was hoping to be in the 180's by now but unfortunately I'm not. I am at 193 and I'm not happy about it. Although I completely deserve it with the way I have been eating.

The past two weeks of my new job have just flown by. I am definitely having trouble with working full time and trying to take care of my family. It can be very stressful. I have been a stay at home mom for the past 4 years and it is really hard for me to give up on some of the things that I did for my family when I was a stay at home mom. I'm trying to do it all and it is getting a bit overwhelming. I need to figure out a way to fit everything into my new schedule or should I say how to not fit everything into my new schedule without feeling guilty.

I am still struggling with finding enough time in the day to cook healthy meals. My first week and a half I had all of the meals planned out and it worked great. This week I didn't have any planned and it was a disaster. I know what I am going to be doing this Holiday weekend. Planning my meals for the next two Weeks. I have noticed that the crockpot meals seem to work the best for my schedule. The only problem I am having is that I am gone for so long that my meals are a bit overcooked by the time I get home but it's better then having to wait an hour to eat each night. My family seems to get a bit crabby when they don't get dinner until 7:30pm ;).

So crockpot meals it is! Now it is time to find some healthy crockpot recipes. I found a few low-fat crockpot cookbooks on amazon. I think I may have to buy one in the very near future.

Exercise seems to be completely out of the picture for the next week or two. I need to get a hang of this working mom schedule before I can add anything else to it. I hope that once I get into the swing of things I will be able to find some time to start exercising again.

The one thing that I have really found to be affecting my weight loss is the lack of sleep. Not only is it causing me to feel the need to eat more but it is also causing me to have migraines and feel miserable. I think a lot of my sleeping issues are coming from my Fibromyalgia, and the stress of not having enough time in the day to get everything done.

Lack of sleep has affected my weight in the past and I know that I really need to get a hold of it before it gets out of control.

I just want the numbers on the scale to start going down!!!!!!!!!!!
