This morning I woke up in horrible pain but I was expecting it after yesterday's Bootcamp workout. Getting out of bed was the worst part but it usually is when you have Fibromyalgia. After I got a shower and got the kids dressed and Maddie off to school I was feeling much better. It seems like the more I sit, the more I hurt. After I finish this post I think I may take MJ for a bike ride. She hasn't been in the pull behind trailer since the "Spider incident" last summer. Because of it Maddie has a fear of spiders like I have never seen before. I can't blame her after being covered in spiders while riding in an enclosed trailer.

On my way home from dropping Maddie off I spotted the farmer's market. I only had $7 on me but I decided to stop anyway. I was able to get a big basket of Yellow (I don't remember the name) apples for $4. MJ and I both ate one on the way home. They are wonderful! It made a great breakfast. I also bought a huge box of tomato seconds for $3. I'm going to use my vitamix and make spaghetti sauce. I can't wait! I am going to go back on Thursday to pick up some apples and try a recipe I found on Vita-Mix's recipe Facebook page. It looks yummy and you don't even have to cook the apples. It seems so simple but it got great reviews. I will let you know how it turns out. I will also put the recipe below because I know several of you have a Vita-Mix and may want to try it out.

Marc, my Bootcamp coach, told me that today I need to get some exercise in even though I hurt. He said doing some cardio will alleviate some pain. It is really cool because Marc, from Fuel Fitness, has a plan set up for me each week that I will be doing on my off days. I am hoping this works and the pain gets a little better so that I can go to Bootcamp again in the morning. Any tips on alleviating pain after a workout would be greatly appreciated. :)

How long do you usually hurt after a tough workout?

Bootcamp Bonanza Giveaway - Day 1

Starting off our Bootcamp Bonanza are Headbands from Sew Creative By Sara. Sara sells her headbands and many other great items on her Etsy shop. Sara has been sewing part-time for over 35 years and it has become her passion for the past 10 years.

I was thrilled when I received Sara's headbands in the mail last week. They were wrapped so perfectly with a cute little bow. I would have taken a picture but I was so excited that I tore off the ribbon to reveal these three wild and unique headbands. When Sara asked me what type of fabric I wanted I told her I like fabrics that are wild and unique. She did a perfect job picking out the patterns for me!

It was great to finally be able to try out the headbands, from Sew Creative by Sara, this morning at Bootcamp. Please don't judge my appearance in this photo. Just remember that it was 5am and I didn't have any make up on when I took this picture of myself. The headband looks great! I wish I could say the same about me. :) Yikes, I look scary in the morning! (Warning to my sisters. I better not hear from either of you how bad I look in this picture. :) Yes, I know I look bad but I'm not going to put make-up on just to sweat it off. )

I was so impressed with how well this headband worked to hold back the sweat. Sara makes her headbands with terry cloth on the inside and a colorful cotton fabric on the outside and an adjustable Velcro closure in the back. The fit is great because it is adjustable and the way it keeps the sweat out of your eyes is amazing. It's exactly what I need for Bootcamp because let me tell you, I was sweating like I have never sweat before. Sara's headbands are so great that I plan to wear them for every form of exercise I do.

You got me. I wont be wearing Sara's headbands just for the sweat relief. Check out these awesome fabrics she sent me!!! It doesn't hurt that they look cute too.

This one is my favorite! I think I will be wearing it to Bootcamp on Wednesday. It is so me! Look how perfect and cute even her little tags are. Seriously, this woman is talented. I wish I had this kind of talent. I have the ideas but no talent for sewing. I actually broke my sewing machine on the first project I started. I always love to see people like Sara that can put there talent to good use and make things for those of us not so talented in that area.

This is the terrycloth on the inside of the headband.

This picture I just took off of Sara's site. It is another favorite's of mine. It will go with just about anything.

What I love about these bands is that Sara, from Sew Creative by Sara, created them to use while biking. She is an avid biker and needed something that would fit under her helmet and still be able to catch the sweat before it dripped in her eyes. How creative is this woman!?! The best part is that you can use them during while doing any type of exercise or activity. She also uses them while gardening. These headbands are adorable, made well and so, so cute. Check out Sara's other headband's along with matching bike seat covers by clicking here.

Sara has been so sweet to offer one of my readers two of her adorable headbands!

Bootcamp Bonanza

My house it finally pneumonia free. I am just thanking God for keeping me from getting it. There is no way I could have taken care of my family, while they were sick, if I had pneumonia.

Today was my first day of Bootcamp at Fuel Fitness. I woke up at 5am and drank a bottle of water and ate half of this amazing Clif Bar you see below. By 5:50 I was at bootcamp and so excited to start my first workout!

And then it began! My excitement turned into sweat and tears. Just kidding! Although I was almost in tears a few times. Now I know why it is called "Bootcamp". It is tough! I was expecting it to be hard. It's just that I thought my body would handle it better. Today's Bootcamp showed me how out of shape I am. I really shouldn't be surprised but I guess part of me was hoping that because I lost so much weight I would automatically be in great shape. I discovered today that it doesn't work that way.

I had to admit to myself today that I really haven't exercised much at all in the past 3-6 months. That was hard for me to admit that the time flew by and I didn't exercise. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by my lack of weight loss in the past 6 months.

Today was an eye opener for me. I realized that my abs are really lacking. I could barely do some of the ab moves. I thought that there was something wrong with me. Luckily, Randy, one of the instructors told me that it is normal for someone who has had children to feel like this. I'm so glad she was there to reassure me that it was normal. I just hope it gets easier.

Today's workout was really tough. To the point that every muscle in my body felt like jelly when I got home. That's how I know it is working. I seriously can feel it everywhere. The awesome part was that when I was doing the exercises, Marc and Randy, really pushed me to have the right form. I know that doesn't sound awesome but I could feel my muscles pulling in every exercise I did. It was tough at the time but now that I think back it was really cool to feel every muscle you work on as you are working on it.

It was a great workout and now that it is over I am so ready to go back. It was harder then any workout I have ever done but I'm sure I am going to see the results a lot quicker then usual. The only bad part was that I didn't know anyone there. It's always more fun to workout with a friend. If anyone lives near me and wants a good workout please come and join me. It would be nice to see some familiar faces. :)

After I took my daughter to school I was starving. This is what I made for myself.

A yummy green smoothie! It's actually my chocolate peanut butter cheesecake smoothie with lots of spinach added! It was so good and filled me up. I really love my spinach smoothies. They taste the same as the usual smoothie but I know it is so much healthier because of the spinach. They make a great snack too!

I go back to Bootcamp at Fuel Fitness on Wednesday morning. I am really hoping my body is recovered by then. A hot tub would be nice right about now.

Bootcamp Bonanza!

My first week of Bootcamp wouldn't be the same if I didn't have a giveaway or maybe even a few giveaway's to offer to my readers. That's why I am having a Bootcamp Bonanza!!! Every time I go to Bootcamp at Fuel Fitness during my first week I will be posting a Giveaway.

Getting Past Our Fears!

Don't miss out! Enter the great giveaway's listed below:

1. $25 Gift Card to "Lil Kids Stuff" Online Store
2. Go-Gurt Back to School Gift Pack

I had x-rays taken today. I am praying that they come back negative. I don't need to be sick taking care of two sick kids. I am hoping to have the results back in the next few hours. I've never had pneumonia before so I'm not really sure what it feels like. I figured it's better to be safe then sorry so I decided just to get the x-rays done. I may regret that decision when the bill comes in the mail.

I can't believe I am missing out on Bootcamp. I'm really hoping that either Todd or I can go tomorrow for it. I am really excited to get started! I'm not sure yet if I am looking forward to the actual exercise but I do know that I am looking forward to the results! I can't wait to tell all of you what it is like. It's always great to try something new. How are you going to know if you like it if you don't try. I know it is easier said then done but so worth it in the end. My next adventure is going to be Zumba! I am scared to death to try it. My coordination is terrible and I am so afraid that I will make a fool of myself. I guess we all have to get past our fears at some time or another. It does sound like a lot of fun and a girl I grew up with runs the classes. She is super sweet and I think she probably makes it lots of fun. Maybe in a few weeks I will give it a try.

Have any of you ever tried Zumba? What did you think of it? Do you think I will embarrass myself to much?

What type's of exercise did you "Step out of you Comfort Zone" to try? Did you like it?

My friend Vanessa, a Team Beach Body Consultant, posted a video yesterday. I will post the link here but I'm not sure if you will be able to view it since it is on her FaceBook page. Her video talked about drinking water. She said that the more water you drink, the less your body retains. It's so true! That's why I love to drink my water. It fills me up, quenches my thirst and helps me to weigh less in the morning. :)

Vanessa, who has also lost 50 pounds, also spoke about adding a little cardio into your life. She talked about how much of a difference just a few days of Cardio can make in your life and how it can get you past your plateau. You will feel better and look better. It was a good motivational talk that got me excited to start my exercise routine. You can learn more about Vanessa by clicking here. Thanks, Vanessa!

Heath Bar Cake Recipe!

I am reposting this recipe for my Mom. She is making it tonight and asked me to repost it. If you are looking for an great cake make sure you try this one out.

Heath Bar Cake:

Ingredients:
1 box Devil's Food Cake mix
10-12oz Diet Coke
1 or 2 egg whites
6-oz fat-free caramel ice cream topping
7-oz fat-free sweetened condensed milk
1 cup Heath Bits
1 container fat-free cool whip

Directions:

Mix cake mix, egg white and diet soda. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out smooth in a greased 9x13 pan. During the last few minutes of baking, put caramel and condensed milk in a sauce pan and stir on medium low heat until smooth. Take cake out of oven, and poke holes all over the top. Pour caramel mixture over warm cake, filling in the holes.
Sprinkle Heath Bits over the top, reserving some for the top. Cool completely.

Cover with container of fat-free cool whip and sprinkle with remaining heath bits. Put in fridge until ready to serve.

Yields: 24 servings
Nutritional Info per serving(varies according to brands used): 193 Calories, 5.25 g. fat, 1 g. fiber

Notes: These are notes from the original poster (sorry, I don't remember who it was).
I prefer to use 2 egg whites for a lighter, better consistency. Watch cake during last few minutes of baking as the cakes made with soda are easily over baked. Use 1/2of the Heath bits and reduce points.

And The Number Is ... Week 86 Weigh In

Make sure you click here to enter the great giveaway that I posted last night!

Just got back from the Doctor's. Now Maddie has pneumonia too. The x-rays show that she has it the same place in her lungs as Jeanne. This is crazy! A husband and two children with pneumonia in the middle of summer. I really wasn't expecting this to happen.

Weigh in is today. I wasn't thrilled to see that I gained .8 of a pound. I weighed in at 167.2. I know that I am up about a pound from my lowest but I feel great! I am starting to notice a difference in the way I look. I can see a big difference in the shape of my body and the way my clothes fit. It's weird how much of a difference just a few pounds can make. I like it! :)

Today, I wore a pair of size 10 jeans that I couldn't even get over my hips a few months ago. It felt great. I can't wait until I am completely in a size 10. Right now I can wear some size 10 but I can also wear the smaller size 12's. I can't wait until I fit perfectly into any size 10 that I try on. I think it is going to be soon!

I'm disappointed because I didn't make it to Bootcamp last night. I was all pumped to go and then Maddie came home from school sick and of course I couldn't leave her with someone else when she is sick. I'm so glad I didn't since she has pneumonia. I am also glad I didn't go because I just started having tightness in my chest when I breath. Can it really happen that fast? One minute you feel pretty normal and next your chest feels tight? It would be absolutely insane if my whole family has pneumonia. I am really praying that it goes away. I can't afford to be sick when my kids are.

Week 86 Weigh In:

My Week In Review

1. Exercise: I walked to pick Maddie up at school yesterday and pushed both girls back in the jogging stroller. What a workout!

2. Water: Yes

3. Late night eating: Last night I snacked a little too much on Ritz Chips.

4. Snacking: only on sugar free pudding cups w/ 1 tsp of peanut Butter and Watermelon and low fat smoothies.

5. Eating more fruits and veggies: I ate lots of both.

What I need to work on this week:

Exercise is a must. Unless I have pneumonia. :) I actually plan to start bootcamp tomorrow if this chest tightness goes away. I really can't wait to start. Exercising is hard to make yourself do but once you do it you enjoy it and feel so much better after. It always makes me feel better physically and mentally. I can't wait to start bootcamp!

Lil Kids Stuff Giveaway!

A few weeks ago, while Maddie was at Vacation Bible School, I stopped at a Children's Specialty Store in Downtown Bloomsburg (PA), called Lil Kids Stuff. My Mom bought Maddie an outfit from this store several years ago and it is still one of my favorites. Maddie wore it and now Jeanne has been able to wear it all summer. Ever since my Mom bought Maddie that outfit I wanted to stop in and check the store out. The reason being that number one it was one of my favorite outfits and number two I just can't find clothes so stylish and of such quality around here.

You are probably wondering why it took me several years to walk into this Children's store. Honestly, I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to afford their clothes. I think that I heard the word specialty and thought that it meant that only rich people can shop in their store. I know, sometimes I get myself worked up about the silliest things.

Let me tell you that I was very surprised when I walked into Lil Kids Stuff because their clothing is very comparably priced to a store such as Macy's or the Bon-ton. Please don't misunderstand, the pricing is comparable but the quality and style is not. I love Macy's but I have to tell you that, in my opinion, Lil Kids Stuff is one hundred times better. Let me list just a few of the reasons why.

1. Unique and Stylish Clothing
2. Excellent Customer Service
3. Excellent Quality of Clothing
4. Play area for the children
5. Clean bathrooms

Before I stepped into Lil Kid's Stuff, Macy's was my favorite store. I like to buy Unique, Stylish, great quality clothing at a good price. Now that I have stepped foot into Lil Kid's Stuff I may never shop at Macy's for Children's clothes again.

Rose Niederhiser, the owner of Lil Kid's Stuff, has the most amazing taste in children's clothing that I have ever seen. I can honestly tell you that I did not see one item in her store that I didn't think was a great quality product and beautiful. I have been telling everyone that Rose's taste in children's clothing is so much like mine that it is scary. I have never met someone in my life whose taste in clothing were so similar. Now you can see why I am so excited about this store. The clothes she sells are just beautiful. I seriously want one of everything!

Not only does Rose have great taste in Children's Clothing but she also is a genuinely sweet person. We hit is off from the first time we met. She really cares about her customers. She is so helpful when you need her to be but she is not a pushy sales woman. I love that she doesn't hover over you when you are shopping. That is one thing that I can't stand when entering a store. Rose's customer service skills are great! She makes sure you know that she is there to help you but she also gives you your space to shop. It's the best of both world's! Sorry, my daughter has been watching too many Hanna Montana reruns. :)

Did I mention that Lil Kids Stuff has a play area for the children? I'm not kidding. Rose has a play area in the middle of her store for the children to play while you shop. It is wonderful! My girls were fully entertained the entire time I was shopping and still in my sight at all times. It is so nice to shop while your kids play. It makes life so much more relaxing and the kids love that they aren't strapped down to a stroller as I shop.

I know you probably thought I was kidding when I put the clean bathroom thing on my list. If you know me you know that I have a fear of public bathrooms. Okay, maybe not a fear but I am totally grossed out by them. So when Jeanne said that she had to use the bathroom I'm sure that I cringed. Potty training in public is not fun for me. Rose was so sweet and showed me that both of her large dressing rooms have bathrooms in them. Jeanne actually used them several times in one shopping trip. :) It was so nice to allow my child to use a clean bathroom in public. I know, I'm a little bit of a germ-a-phob. :)

My favorite part of Lil Kids Stuff is that my children look adorable in their clothing and I can afford it. Yes, their clothing is a little higher priced then your discount stores but you get what you pay for. In my case, whatever I buy for Maddie to wear Jeanne will also get to wear. Because the clothing Rose carries are of such high quality I am able to have both of my kids wear it and then still sell it at a yard sale. Rose also has an amazing amount of beautiful clearance clothing. My sister was able to buy my nephew several items from last years winter clothing at really great prices.

If you are looking for great quality clothing that's unique and stylish look no further because here it is. Can you tell I am in love with this store?!

I'm sure you can imagine my excitement when Rose allowed me to review one of her outfits. She was so sweet. She actually allowed my daughter, Maddie, to come into the store and pick out a back to school outfit. Rose held up practically every piece of girls clothing in the store and let Maddie choose what she would like to try on. Maddie had so much fun trying on about 15 or more outfits. She was so cute modeling them all. Let me show you a few of our favorites.

Normally I would say that it would be no problem picking out just one outfit but when you like every single outfit in the store it is so much harder. As you know some styles or colors look better on some kids then others so that made our job a little easier but not easy enough. I really loved almost everything she tried on. I think by the time we were done trying them on we were able to narrow it down to about 6 outfits. We finally got it narrowed down to two and decided we just couldn't choose just one. So Rose gave her the outfit that we thought would be best for a Back to School outfit and my Mom is buying her the other one for her Birthday. She is so excited that she gets both.

Exciting News!

I have some great news to tell all of you. Tomorrow I am starting a new exercise program. My husband and I are going to be starting Bootcamps by Fuel Fitness . We are both so excited and a little nervous.

Last night we met with, Marc Nespoli, the owner of Fuel Fitness. He sat down with us and told us all about his bootcamps. He gave us a great book to take home that is filled with tons of weight loss and exercise tips and so much more. I was very impressed by the information that Marc gave us to take home. Everything is very organized and well planned out. I have dealt with gyms that are less then organized and it was so nice to go to a gym that has their act together. It makes me feel reassured that this program is well put together and well thought out. I feel like Marc is really trying to help others live a healthier life not just make a few extra dollars.

My favorite part of meeting with Marc was that he checked my BMI. I was a little nervous holding that little machine that determines whether I am obese or not. Okay, maybe I am being a bit dramatic. It does tell you whether your BMI is unhealthy, healthy or overweight. I was so excited to find out for the first time in a very long time I was in the healthy range. It was such a great feeling!

Marc also took our measurements to compare them in the months to come. I'm very excited because I have never taken my measurements before. It's going to be a lot of fun to see the numbers change.

Here is a little more of a description of the Bootcamps my hubby and I are going to be doing. I got this information off of the Fuel Fitness web-site.

Bootcamps by Fuel are fun, creative, and challenging workouts that get results!

Through total body conditioning, combining strength, speed, endurance, agility, and core strength, people of ALL fitness levels, male and female, will be challenged and transform their bodies. By progressively increasing intensity levels and using modifications for each exercise, no one person will ever feel left behind.

Fuel Bootcamps are for highly motivated individuals that want to look good and feel great!

All bootcamp sessions are four weeks in duration and are held outside unless told otherwise. Each camp session lasts between 45 min to an hour and all camps are Co-ed. You do NOT need to be a member at Fuel Fitness to participate.

Tomorrow starts a new phase in my weight loss journey. It is the Bootcamp phase! I'm thrilled that I am going to be exercising on a regular bases again and that I have some accountability to do it. It's going to be so much fun and I am very excited to start this new part of my weight loss journey. I will be sure to keep you updated along the way.

Saving The Spinach!

Maddie and I had another great Smoothie this morning! The poor kid woke up with a fever, head ache and stomach ache. After some Tylenol and pepto all she wanted was a strawberry smoothie. So this is what I made her.

Maddie's Strawberry Spinach Smoothie

by: Jessica Brown

Ingredients:

1 cup of Almond Breeze or Skim Milk

1/4 cup of Splenda (store brand)

2 tbsp of sugar free vanilla pudding mix (store brand)

1/2 cup of spinach

1/2 cup of frozen strawberries

Blend in Vitamix or blender until spinach and strawberries are completely pureed. Add ice if you need to meet the consistency that you prefer.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Saving The Spinach

----------------------------------------------------

This is what my spinach looked like this morning when I opened my bowl to make Maddie's smoothie. Just starting to wilt and not going to last another day in the fridge. I really hate to waste food. Especially something as expensive as fresh baby spinach. Instead of throwing it away this is what I did.

I made my smoothie like I usually do and then poured it into ice cube trays and placed in the freezer until they are completely frozen. When they are frozen I take them out and put them in labeled freezer bags. When I want that particular smoothie I will put the ice cubes in the Vitamix with a little bit of skim milk and blend until it is the consistency I want. It will save me time and money to do it this way.

Next time you have fruits and veggies that need to be used. Just make a few smoothies and freeze them in ice cube trays for another time. Be creative with your ingredients. It's so much fun!

Me and My Girl!

My daughter is starting Kindergarten this coming week and I am not ready. She has the clothes, the shoes, the book bag and the lunch bag. It's emotionally that I am not ready. It breaks my heart that after having only five (almost 6) short years with her I will be sending her to school for 7 hours a day. That's seven hours less a day that I get to spend with her. It makes me so sad.

On the other hand Maddie is really ready to go. She has no fear of Kindergarten. She is just excited to learn and make new friends. She really is the most amazing child. She is so smart, so beautiful and she loves the Lord!

These last five (almost six) years have been the best years of my life. I have been able to watch my baby grow into this amazing little girl who wants to live her life for God. What else can I ask for?

She is so special and has such a sweet and compassionate heart. I know I sound like I am bragging about my child and maybe I am just a bit but Maddie really isn't like most children. She is different and I mean that in a good way. She is sensitive, sweet and so compassionate. She acts so much older then most five year old's. She never wants to hurt anyone or anything. She thinks before she acts which is not very common in a five year old. You would expect a child that is this sweet to be shy but Maddie is not. She is outgoing and confident. My little clingy Momma's girl from 3 years ago has turned into a independent little girls that is ready to go to school on her own. This little girl just amazes me every day and I'm sure as the years go on she will continue to do the same. I just can't believe my little girl is going to school.

That being said, I am so happy that she is the independent girl that she is. If she was nervous about going to school it would be even harder for me to send her. I am excited that she is excited! She is ready which in turn means whether I like it or not I need to be ready too.

To Celebrate Maddie going to Kindergarten we had our last Mommy and Maddie day before she starts. Our day started out with a little surprise from Mommy. We went to an amazing Japanese Restaurant for lunch. This was Maddie's first time eating Japanese and she loved every second of it. We sat at the Hibachi grill and watched them cook our meal and Maddie just watched in amazement. It was so cute! She actually liked the food so much that she ate more then me.

I also ordered a Sushi roll just to let her try it. I ordered my favorite. It's called a B-52 and it is amazing. It has raw eel and yellow fish in it (I think). Maddie ate almost half of the huge roll. She loved the fact that it was so spicy. She really is a funny kid. She also loved the Miso soup. She ate hers and half of mine. :)

After our lunch we went to the mall and found her a pair of black flats that she needed to start school. Her old ones were just a little to small. Then we went for ice cream where she got a hot fudge sundae with cookie dough ice cream.

After our ice cream we went for a bike ride. We forgot the training wheels so she had to learn to ride without. She did awesome! She has the balancing and pedaling down. She just needs to work on the steering. She actually road her bike right into a tree. I'm not quite sure how she did that one but she did. By the time I got to her she had bloody teeth, a bloody lip and a mouth full of tree bark. I'm not kidding! She seriously had bark in her mouth and stuck all over her face. All I can say is thank God for helmets. If she wouldn't have had a helmet on it would have been way worse. You can actually see where the helmet hit the tree and stopped most of the impact. Luckily I had an ice pack in the cooler that I brought our drinks in. That of course ended our Mommy and Maddie day. I was happy to go home after seven hours out and about.

Yesterday's Menu:

Breakfast:
None

Lunch:
1/4 cup of fried rice
1/4 cup of noodles
2 oz (approx.) chicken
3 pieces of the B-52 Sushi roll
salad w/ Japanese dressing

Dessert:
Small sundae with hot fudge and coconut

Yoplait Go-Gurt Review and Giveaway!

I have another great giveaway that you are not going to want to miss out on. It's the Keep Cool in School with Yoplait Go-Gurt Yogurt Giveaway!

A few weeks ago Yoplait sent me an awesome back to school gift pack and a coupon for my girls to try Yoplait's Go-Gurt. Maddie loves the gift pack. Being that she is going to start kindergarten in the fall she just thinks it is great that she has a cool lunch bag, calculator, a fan pen (her favorite) and many other cool items. She just thinks she is hot stuff!

Yoplait's Go-Gurt's are actually one of my girls favorite snacks. They got hooked on them a few months ago when we went to the beach with my Sister and Brother-in-Law. On the package I noticed that it said you could freeze them and they would thaw by lunch time. So of course I grabbed a box thinking how great they would be for our packed beach lunches. The girls went nuts over them. They actually fought over who got the one that was more frozen at lunch. They liked them half frozen. It was really cute! Ever since they have been hooked.

When we got our free coupon from Yoplait a few weeks ago I allowed the girls to pick out the flavors they wanted. They had so many to choose from. They ended up choosing the box with the Scooby Doo flavors. Maddie said "Can we freeze them like when we went to the beach?". Jeanie, my two year old, has pneumonia right now and honestly Go-Gurt and french fries are the only things she will eat right now. She ate two of them today after her x-rays and she was able to keep them down. I was very pleased that she was getting some nutritious food in her body.

I think Go-Gurts are a wonderful invention. I can hand them to my kids and most of the time they are completely mess free. It's hard because with a two year old nothing is ever 100% mess free. :)
Pippi enjoys being on clean up duty! They are just such a quick and easy snack and I love feeling like my kids are eating something healthy and nutritious between meals. In my opinion there are not many kids snacks on the market that I would rank higher then Yoplait Go-Gurts.

The best part is that Yoplait is offering one of my readers a Back To School Gift Pack just like the one I received.
This includes everything you see below (except you will get a coupon for the Go-Gurt instead of the real thing).

Fast Food Or No Fast Food? What's Your Vote?

As we are driving home from a 45 min. trip to the hospital, x-rays at the hospital, a stop at Wal-mart for dog food (poor Jakey was all out) where Jeanie peed all over the cart and floor in the fish aisle, Jeanie decided she wanted french fries. Since she hasn't kept anything down for days I of course decided to stop at Wendy's to get her some.

The debate: It is 4 pm, I have had a long day and I am of course hungry. Do I eat Fast Food or do I wait until I get home and eat a nice big filling, healthy meal?

I chose to get a kiddie size Frosty. Which I must say I was very disappointed with. After about 5 bites my Dixie sized cup was empty. :) It probably was a good thing that it was so small. I then ate 1/4 of my daughter's double cheeseburger (Maddie wanted Burger King). Not bad for having extra french fries staring me in the face the entire ride home.

Just so you know, this is not the kiddie size! LOL.

Then I get home and think, "Why did I waste all of those calories on a couple bites of burger and Frosty?". Why does Fast Food taste so good? I had planned on making Crazy Pineapple Salmon Teriyaki. I haven't made it but my sister said that it is awesome. Anyway, I wish I would have just saved the calories and had my awesome salmon. Instead, I ate part of a burger a Frosty and will probably eat a lunch meat bagel thin sandwich for dinner. Why, why, why?

What's your view on Fast Food? Would you rather have a fast food Kid's Meal or a healthy meal at home?

Please Vote! Fast Food or No Fast Food

And The Number Is ..... Week 85

I woke up this morning to this staring me right in the face!

What did I do?

Of course I dug in! It looked so good that I just wanted to get a spoon and start eating. I decided that would be to messy so I sliced it instead. :)

I ate it along with my wonderful bagel thin sandwich. I just made a grilled turkey and cheese on a bagel thin. Simple and healthy but it tasted so good. Especially with fresh watermelon.

This morning when I weighed in I was at 166.4. That is a .4 gain for the week. I'm actually a little surprised. I thought for sure I would be somewhere around 165. Maybe it will show up tomorrow. Either way I am excited that I am keeping the weight off.

Week 85 Weigh In:

My Week In Review

1. Exercise: No

2. Water: Yes

3. Late night eating: None

4. Snacking: only on sugar free pudding cups w/ 1 tsp of Almond Butter and fruits or smoothies.

5. Eating more fruits and veggies: I ate lots of both.

What I need to work on this week:

I feel like I have written the same thing week after week. It always has something to do with exercise. I feel like I am on the right track with my eating . I just need to get my butt exercising. I think I may have the solution. The solution I need to start exercising and also make it to my goal weight. I will be sharing my ideas with you very soon!

Check back later today for a giveaway!!!!

My little secret! - Vitamix

I woke up this morning feeling much better then last night. I still have a little headache but I am going to head out in a little while to get myself some Excedrin Migraine. For some reason I am completely out of Tylenol, Excedrin Migraine and Midol(which I use for my headaches).

This morning Maddie and I are drinking our Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Smoothies with a little twist. Yep, I did it again! I added Spinach to it. It sounds nasty but honestly you can't even taste it. Today I didn't tell Maddie that I added spinach to the smoothie. After she sucked the entire thing down I asked her what she thought. She said "It's the best one yet!". She is so funny. When I told her that I added spinach she said " Mommy, you didn't tell me you added spinach.". She had no clue. That's how good it tastes even with the spinach.

You are probably wondering what my little secret is. This is it!

The great people at Vita-Mix Corporation sent me a brand new Vitamix to review. I have had it for a little over a week and have used it several times each day just to test it out. Okay, maybe I was just using it everyday this week because it is AWESOME!!!!

Seriously, I can not say enough good about this piece of kitchen equipment. It is the most amazing Kitchen appliance that I own. I know I have only owned it for a little over a week but let me just tell you what I was able to make with it.

Some of you may have noticed that I stopped posting my Pudget Plateau Busting Formula. Now I can share my secret and start posting what I am eating again.

Every day since I got the Vitamix I have made myself and my girls a morning breakfast shake. We have tried the following smoothies:

1. Banana Bounce Smoothie (Vitamix cookbook)
2. Cabbage Peach and Carrot Smoothie (Vitamix cookbook)
3. Strawberry and Greens Smoothie (Vitamix Cookbook)
4. Peachy Green Smoothie (Vitamix Cookbook)
5. Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie
6. Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
7. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Smoothie
8. Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie with Spinach
9. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Smoothie with Spinach

What I can say about the Vitamix after trying these recipes is that this thing is amazing. You can put anything in this machine and it can puree it so fine that you don't even know it is there. Every single smoothie I have listed above has been perfect. I love that I can put spinach in my smoothies and not have chunks of green spinach in it. I tried making green smoothies once before by my blender just doesn't puree the way this thing does. It made it a weird thick consistency that was awful to drink. The Vitamix is so different. The way it purees is seriously amazing.

More things that I cooked this week with the Vitamix:

1. Potato Cheddar Breakfast Bake (From the Vitamix cookbook)
2. Peach Sorbet (from Vitamix Cookbook)
3. Brownie Bites (from Vitamix Cookbook)
4. Peanutty Chocolate Granola Treats (from Vitamix Cookbook)
5. Alfredo Sauce (from Vitamix Cookbook)

I loved all of the recipes except the Brownie Bites. They are okay but not great. The other recipes are amazing. I am in love with the Vitamix Whole Foods Cookbook. It comes with the Vitamix when you purchase it. My family went nuts over every recipe we tried (except the brownies).

The Vitamix is so versatile. The fact that you can make breakfast, lunch and dinner in the same machine just amazes me. Honestly when I first got the machine I of course was skeptical. I thought "how can this one little machine make all of the food in this 300+ page cookbook?". I think that is why I tested so many recipes before I wrote the review. I had to make sure this machine really does everything the company claims.

I have to give them credit. This machine does everything they said and so much more. I love the recipes in the cookbook but I also love that I can be creative with it and make my own recipes. The more familiar I get with the machine the more ideas I have. It's great!

I wish I would have had the Vitamix at the beginning of my weight loss journey. This machine has changed my world. My weight loss journey would have been so much easier if I would have had the Vitamix. I would have had quick, easy, healthy meals without even giving it a second thought. It would have been so much less stressful.

Not only does the Vitamix make my life easier but it is also going to save me a ton of money and make my food so much healthier and more natural. I can now make my own low-fat Alfredo sauce (Vitamix recipe) that is amazing, my own homemade peanut butter, Salsa, salad dressings, Marinades, sorbets, powdered sugar, sauces and so much more. I actually made Peanutty Chocolate Granola Treats (kind of like a no bake cookie) completely in the Vitamix. It actually even melted the chocolate. So cool! I really wasn't kidding when I said that this thing is amazing!

I could go on and on about this product. It is worth every penny you spend on it. I truly believe that it is one of those products that you will save your self so much money in the lifetime of the appliance that it will pay for itself in the long run. That and the convenience put together makes this purchase a no brainer. If you are trying to lose weight or even just eat healthier, and have the money to purchase the Vitamix, I am convinced that you won't be disappointed.

I am so excited because the Vitamix is not only going to help me lose weight because of its convenience and versatility but it is also going to help my family live a healthier lifestyle.

You can click here to visit the Vitamix website.

Spinach? Really???

It's about 10:34pm and I am just about ready to go to bed. After I write this post of course. :) My two year old has Pneumonia now and my husband is finally starting to recover from his Pneumonia. I got the same virus the rest of the family has but I don't think it has turned to Pneumonia yet. Please pray that it doesn't. I don't know what I will do if I get Pneumonia and have to take of a very sick two year old. It is hard enough doing it with this virus. It is miserable. The worst part is the coughing all night long and the headaches all day long. I just can't win. I really need my family to well very quickly or I might go insane. :)

I actually woke up feeling slightly better then the day before which is a good thing. Yesterday I thought I was going to die and still had to get out of the house to take my sick baby to the Doctor's. I had no idea that she had Pneumonia. I felt like a horrible mother for not knowing. Today was my oldest daughter's Kindergarten Orientation. I felt fine when we got there but after a few minutes of sitting on a miniature (child sized) lunch type picnic table I started to sweat profusely. I felt horrible but made it through. It only lasted a little over an hour and my daughter had such a good time.

I came home to a sink full of dishes and toys all over the floor. Not to mention the mountain of laundry building in the doorway to the basement. Wow, it is tough being sick and taking care of sick kids. Of course it has to be the week I am featured in a national magazine and the front page of our local paper. I had such plans to enjoy all of this. Now I am just stuck at home trying to keep my house from looking like a tornado has gone through. I was able to clean my down stairs minus the laundry and make a great dinner. I had chicken that needed to be cooked so I just made myself do it.

In the picture to the left are the veggies I cut up to cook with our dinner. I actually sauteed potatoes, squash and zucchini together with a little EVOO and my new favorite ingredient 98% fat free chicken broth. I also added some garlic powder, onion powder and salt. They turned out yummy. Then I used the chicken to make my favorite chicken sandwiches. I like to call them my better then McDonald's chicken sandwiches. They really are that good. My hubby loved them so much he ate two!

I almost forgot to tell you that my daughter and I started out day off with a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie. Only this time I added 1 whole cup (packed) of Spinach to two cups of Almond Breeze. It was pureed so fine you couldn't even tell it was there. I will share my little secret about that tomorrow!

I have a horrible headache right now so I am heading off to bed. I will try to write more tomorrow morning. I will share my great secret and I also have many great giveaways coming up! Be sure to check back soon!

My Husband Lost 30 + Pounds!

I don't write about my husband very often but he really is the best!

When I started my weight loss journey he came along for the ride. It was really never a question of making two different meals (one for me and one for my family). I never debated about whether or not I should buy two different types of snacks. We have always eaten together as a family and we have always eaten the same thing. That's the way things were and neither of us ever considered changing that.

I decided from the beginning that if I would be eating healthy so would the rest of the family. I also decided that I would always make food that the whole family would enjoy without ever knowing that it was healthy. I don't deprive them of special snacks like fruit snacks, cupcakes and chips. They just have them every once in a while as a special treat.

My plan was a success! My husband told me last week that he has lost over 30 pounds since I started my weight loss journey. His Doctor was actually a little worried thinking that he was losing weight without trying. The funny part is that he was losing weight without even trying. I think that is when it hit him that he has lost over 30 pounds just because of what I cook and what I buy to snack on.

He doesn't feel deprived. He always eats until he is full. He still snacks when he is hungry. It is just the food is so much healthier then we were used to. That and we don't eat out very much because we are on a strict budget.

It's cute to see how happy he is when I tell him that his pants are way to big or when he can fit into a large shirt instead of extra large. I have to say that my husband is a real trooper. Not once has he complained about the change in food. Actually he complemented me the entire way. He loves that I make more veggies and healthy meats such as chicken and steak. He loves every new thing I make. He even drinks my green smoothies with me. His favorite meal is lean hamburgers w/ 2% cheese, perogies baked w/ PAM and green beans.

My husband is not only a great supporter but he is my taste tester and my photographer. I could not have lost the weight or written this blog without him. Todd, you are the best and I love you! Thank you for all of your support and congrats on your weight loss!
