Getting Past Our Fears!

I had x-rays taken today. I am praying that they come back negative. I don't need to be sick taking care of two sick kids. I am hoping to have the results back in the next few hours. I've never had pneumonia before so I'm not really sure what it feels like. I figured it's better to be safe then sorry so I decided just to get the x-rays done. I may regret that decision when the bill comes in the mail.

I can't believe I am missing out on Bootcamp. I'm really hoping that either Todd or I can go tomorrow for it. I am really excited to get started! I'm not sure yet if I am looking forward to the actual exercise but I do know that I am looking forward to the results! I can't wait to tell all of you what it is like. It's always great to try something new. How are you going to know if you like it if you don't try. I know it is easier said then done but so worth it in the end. My next adventure is going to be Zumba! I am scared to death to try it. My coordination is terrible and I am so afraid that I will make a fool of myself. I guess we all have to get past our fears at some time or another. It does sound like a lot of fun and a girl I grew up with runs the classes. She is super sweet and I think she probably makes it lots of fun. Maybe in a few weeks I will give it a try.

Have any of you ever tried Zumba? What did you think of it? Do you think I will embarrass myself to much?

What type's of exercise did you "Step out of you Comfort Zone" to try? Did you like it?

My friend Vanessa, a Team Beach Body Consultant, posted a video yesterday. I will post the link here but I'm not sure if you will be able to view it since it is on her FaceBook page. Her video talked about drinking water. She said that the more water you drink, the less your body retains. It's so true! That's why I love to drink my water. It fills me up, quenches my thirst and helps me to weigh less in the morning. :)

Vanessa, who has also lost 50 pounds, also spoke about adding a little cardio into your life. She talked about how much of a difference just a few days of Cardio can make in your life and how it can get you past your plateau. You will feel better and look better. I tried Zumba in the last few weeks and I have loved it. It can be very fast paced and I started during a mid-week class so I was just watching and trying to keep up. I found out they do instruction in the Saturday class. Mostly just keep moving, watch other people, and have fun. No one cares what you look like.

That was how I stepped out of my comfort zone. Next step: Couch to 5K.

Everyone I've talked to who has tried Zumba gets totally addicted. I haven't tried it yet - the gym classes haven't worked for my schedule - but I'd have the same reservations about it as you. I can rock some cardio, but my coordination? Not so good. (I tried BodyStep class, and I didn't care for it at all. At least you won't have to worry about tripping over a step platform in Zumba.)

Regarding pneumonia, yikes! It's good to get the X-ray and make sure you don't have it...or getting the medications you need if you do. I've had it twice (before my diabetes diagnosis and getting healthy), and it wiped me out. One symptom for me was when I would breath, there'd be this crackling sound on the exhale. (That's how I knew I had it the second time around...that doctor didn't bother with the X-ray, and I ended up having it longer and worse.) Anyhow, sending up a prayer that you're feeling better soon!

Aerobics. I am scared to do any aerobics.

I hope you aren't getting sick. I had pneumonia a lot growing up and it was not fun. Hope you feel better soon.
