The Job Search Begins!!!

I am finally able to share my surprise with all of you. One of my surprises anyway. The other surprise/review/giveaway will have to wait for just a bit. I am still waiting to get the final go ahead from the company. It is definitely worth the wait.

My big surprise is that I have decided to go back to work full time! For all of you that know me you already know that I have been a very content stay at home mom for the last two years. Although I have loved every second of it I have decided that it is time for me to work outside of the home again. I have decided that I am ready to get back into the work field and I am thrilled to begin my job search.

My husband and I decided, when I was pregnant with my last daughter, that my body will not survive another pregnancy. This was a hard decision to make. Not because we want more children but because we weren't ready to have that decision made for us. I am however excited that the girls are now at a nice age and I don't ever have to go back to the sleepless nights. This is part of the reason why I have decided to go back to work outside of the home.

Another reason of course is that I miss it. I loved my last job! I managed the secretarial staff, data manager and residency coordinator in a hospital and it was a wonderful learning experience. I am so grateful for the time I worked in this position. I also provided administrative support to the director, provided organization to the department, handled scheduling, filled out paperwork, handled issues with patients and office staff and planned events. It was a high stress job but I think that is when I do my best. I love the pressure and I love working with a team of people. It keeps you on your toes and makes each day more exciting.

Also, it helps that my oldest daughter will be starting kindergarten full time in the fall. That of course means I will only be paying for one child in child care. This makes my decision to go back to work a lot easier. My soon to be 2 year old will be going to my husband's on-site child care center. My older daughter went to the same daycare for 2 years when I was working outside the home and we where very happy with every aspect of it. It definitely helps that my husband is just a minute away and he receives a nice discount. That and it is one of the best day cares in the area. It is so nice to know that when I go back to work my children will be properly cared for. It makes going to work so much less stressful.

I have to say that I am ecstatic to be telling you that I will be going back to work. The idea of looking for the perfect job and interviewing completely thrills me. I know, I'm odd but I really do like interviews. I may just be the only person in the world that does but I just think of them as an opportunity to meet new people, show them what I have to offer and find out more about the job I am interested in. It is all a great learning experience. I don't feel any interview is a waste. There is always something new to be learned.

What excites me the most is that I don't have to except any job that is offered to me. My husband and I have made it on one income for two years. We will survive a few more months this way if we have to. So I am going to wait until I am offered a job that I really want. I think it will be worth the wait to find the right job.

It is going to be exciting to not only share my weight loss journey with you but now I will also be able to share my job search. Hopefully in the near future I will be sharing with you some new weight loss ideas and adventures that I have when I start working outside the home.

This is going to be a big change for my family but I really feel this is where God wants me to be. Please keep my family in your prayers as we transition into this new stage in our lives.

@Anonymous -- 'poor kids' Seriously? Really? Are you that insensitive and closed-minded that you would judge someone for going back to work? Why don't you keep your stupid comments to youself from now on? Jessica has done an amazing job with this blog and her weight loss and I know that her kids will will continue to be happy and healthy after she goes back to work!

Congratulations on your decision, Jessica. I am a full-time working mommy of 2 (ages 2.5 & 4.5). It was a tough decision to put our daughter in day care when she was born as we didn't want to pay for a nanny and day care (thought the then 2 year old needed to leave his nanny and go to day care). It has been a decision that I am very happy with. I am happier working, and they are happier because I am not with them full-time. I hope this all works out, and you can go to work easier knowing that if you have to, the decision can be reversed because you've already proven it to yourself and your family.

I am so excited for you, Jess!! That's awesome! I hope we won't see less of you on here; I love reading about your life.
As far as rude comments go, ignore them. You are an amazing Mom, and it is obvious that you would devote your everything to those girls and your husband. You wouldn't be going back to work if you didn't think it was right for everyone. I'm proud of you!
