Low Point Breakfast

I thought I would share with you what I have been eating for breakfast almost everyday. It's my new favorite.

This a Peperidge Farm Mini Bagel with Weight Watchers cream cheese. I usually buy the 100 Calorie mini bagels but my store was out of them this week. I love these things. They are the perfect size and I love to eat them before I go to the gym. It is a very low point breakfast. The bagel is 2 P's and the cream cheese is 1 P. If you can find the 100 calorie bagels they are only 1 P and just as big.

I thought it would be neat if we all share our favorite breakfasts so that we can get some new ideas/options.

What is your favorite breakfast?

My favorite breakfast is 1/2 cup of Egg Beaters, 1 oz of reduced fat cheese, and 1/4 cup salsa in a microwave bowl, microwave for 3 minutes and you will have a terrific southwest egg souffle! :) 3 POINTS! This plus a cup of coffee starts my day off right. Great protein to keep me going right through til lunch.

I am on Nutrisystem & I love to make an ham, egg & cheese sandwich.

I use the Arnolds Sandwich Thins (a dieters best friend) then nuke 1/4 cup Egg Beaters with a sprinkle of ff cheddar. Add a slice of ham & you're all set. This counts as the Nutrisystem entree and dairy/protein serving, leaving you to still have fruit.

How silly am I that I've never considered making egg beaters in the microwave!? That means I could do that at work! I'd probably put mine in a zero point tortilla!

I am boring boring for breakfast most days but it doesnt bother me. I have one of the following:

1-grapenuts w/ 1% milk (sometimes add sm banana)
2-cheerios w/ milk (sometimes w/ banana & either honey nut or frosted Os & sometimes half/half)
3- Most mornings its 1/2c old fasioned oats w/ 1 splenda packet & 1TBL Move over butter. I'm typically too cheap to buy flavored packets.

Want to try the pumpkin oatmeal recipe from Roni's recipe blog.

My favorite breakfast is 1 package regular instant oatmeal cooked in the microwave with about 6 frozen strawberries, 1/4 tsp cinnamon and enough water to moisten it all. If I am feeling really daring, I add 1 Tbls of vanilla whey powder or 1 Tbls Adam's natural peanut butter. I don't eat sugar, so the strawberries add enough sweet for me. You could probably put one Splenda packet in the oatmeal to sweeten it up without killing your calorie intake.

I have a protein shake mixed with nf milk, protein powder and frozen fruits. I tend not to eat a lot of protein, which my body needs, so this is a great way for me to get my protein intake.

Ok, I am now really hungry for egg beaters and oatmeal. I do love to make an egg beater omlet or breakfast sandwich. Yum! The protien powder shake sounds great also. I make smoothies for breakfast usually in the summer but I have never added protien powder. I have been thinking about it now that I am exercising so much.

Thanks for all of the great ideas.

I love to do steel cut oats overnight in the crockpot. You can throw in fruit also. If I need a sweetner I use stevia.

The Aunt Millie's Mini Bagels (wheat) are only 1 pt per bagel, so that would be even less. The philadelphia fat free cream cheese is 0 pts per 2 T, so check into that also!
